What’s UP Knox?!?: Need a Boat? Don’t BUY OR RENT – Try this instead

There are few places better than life on the lake. It’s peaceful and serene. It’s also a great place to relax and enjoy nature with family and friends. On my recent trip to the lake, I spoke with Scott Payne, owner of Nautical Boat Club in Knoxville, TN. Scott is from the desert of west Texas where there is no water, mountains or trees. Because of this, his family traveled to the lake as often as they could. Boating became an important aspect of Scott’s life early on.

How did the Nautical Boat Club Get Started?

After thirty years of calling Texas home, the lush living of Knoxville called and caught the attention of Scott and his family. Upon arriving in Knoxville, Scott discovered the countless bodies of water and endless opportunities to enjoy life on the lake. Wanting to share his passion for the lake with others, Scott opened Nautical Boat Club in Knoxville.

Nautical Boat Club at Concord Marina is Knoxville’s first and only Boating Country Club. Scott opened Nautical Boat Club at Concord in April 2017. When you become a member, you’ll be able to take full advantage of unlimited year-round use of a fleet of new, fully outfitted watercraft, as well as complimentary use of all water toys, free guest privileges, insurance, maintenance, premium dockside valet service and free parking.

How does membership work?

Scott describes his boat club as something in-between renting and owning a boat. As a member of Nautical Boat Club, you and your family will enjoy all the perks and benefits of owning a boat at one-third the cost of boat ownership. Scott informed me that some members go out on the lake ten times a year, while others take full advantage and go out fifty times a year. One of the best benefits of being a member at Nautical Boat Club is the cost savings

What if I don’t know anything about boats?

If you’re a nautical novice or a well-seasoned sailor, go see Scott at the Nautical Boat Club. No boating experience is required. The team at the Nautical Boat Club will teach you everything you need to know to take your first trip out onto the water. You’ll get to experience the best part of boating without the high cost and maintenance associated with ownership.
